This destination is inspired by cherished memories from my childhood in the Mediterranean, early mornings spent walking through olive groves with my father and uncle, followed by quiet afternoons in the hills hunting Thrushes and Wood Pigeons during the migratory season. Recreating that familiar rhythm and atmosphere in this prototype has been deeply rewarding, allowing me to relive the ambiance, the light, the scents, the silence of hunting days that shaped me in a part of the world that still lives within me.

The Wood Pigeon is a migratory game bird found across Europe, known for its strong, steady flight and flocking behavior. They travel in flocks, sweeping southward in steady formation. Their flight is strong and direct, with rhythmic wingbeats propelling them forward. In the morning, they soar higher, but as the day progresses, they drop lower, hugging the terrain for cover.
Thrushes
(Turdidae)
Also known as zorzales, Thrushes are small migratory game birds belonging to the same family as the common blackbird and pursued by bird hunters in the Mediterranean region. Darting through the sky, their swift movements make them a challenging target. In the morning, these birds descend from their roosts, in the upper hills to forage in the olive fields. As evening approaches, they return to the hills to settle for the night.
Featured Simulations
Flock Behavior – Wood Pigeons fly in flocks, adapting to the terrain as they navigate the hills, creating a challenging flight pattern for hunters.
Migratory Passage Hunting – Birds follow natural migration routes that shift throughout the day, requiring hunters to adjust their positioning based on flight patterns.
Time of Day & Flight Behavior – Thrushes move between their roosting spots in the hills and feeding areas in open fields. During the day, they fly at lower altitudes before ascending again in the evening.
Birds' Perception & Callers – If enabled in the simulation settings, birds react to the hunter’s visibility, drifting away when exposed. Natural cover provides the best vantage points for a stealthy approach. Similarly, Thrushes respond to callers, adjusting their flight path toward the sound when the hunter remains hidden.
Protected Species – The common blackbird and Hen Harrier coexist with Thrushes and Wood Pigeons. These species are protected, offering an opportunity to educate hunters on responsible shooting practices.
The Iberian Hare
The only fast and challenging mammal that can be harvested in the Small Game Seasons prototype at Dominio del Halcón.
“Small game” can also refer to mammals. The prototype focuses on bird hunting and wingshooting simulation, but the clay shooting Hare station at Maple Feathered Flight nods to the Iberian Hare at Dominio del Halcón, a fast, challenging small game that requires forward allowance skills, much like wingshooting.

Thrush Callers
Two types of thrush callers are available, replicating those commonly used by Mediterranean hunters during the migratory hunting season. When properly concealed, hunters can use these callers to influence flight patterns, drawing thrushes toward the sound for a more strategic approach.
